As a full-time narrative designer at Illuvium, I support the worldbuilding and overarching narrative of the sci-fi universe.
I've written over 205 in-depth descriptions on Illuvials in collaboration with an in-house biologist. They are extraordinary creatures that live on a beautiful, but deadly planet. Here’s about 5% of the lore behind them cherry picked by the marketing team to share.

(We are still in private beta with much of the details under wraps!)
The waters of Halcyon Sea are warm and crystal clear, a wonderful blue paradise. Waving its arms at them is the Squizz, using its tentacles to climb the rocks in the idyllic pools.

The Squizz is a wriggly yellow creature with big round eyes that peer out from behind its tentacles. It has splotchy orange stripes on its eight arms, and it uses the six along its sides to crawl while the front two stay curled up. Its eyes are purple like its stripes, and its dorsal fin stands on its ballooning mantle head. A versatile creature, the Squizz is flexible on land and in water, able to climb any surface with the suckers on its tentacles.
Facts

The Squizz has a propulsion organ in its body that allows it to expel psionic energy across vast distances.
The Squizz‘s body has adapted layers of fat that enable it to neutralize its charge and avoid surging with electricity.
The Squizz has a brain for each of its tentacles which allows it to coordinate complex movement.

In the craggy canyons of Shardbluff Labyrinth, midst the collage of angular stone, many strange creatures can be found, but one of the most striking is the massive lumbering Titanor.

The Titanor is a hulking giant covered in stony, bulging armour plates. Its terrifying, jagged head resembles an enormous grey skull, with two ridged tusks jutting from the sides. It has a sizeable pronged horn protruding from its nose, which holds a levitating luminous orb, the same colour as its piercing eyes. The Titanor walks on four stocky legs with giant claws on its feet. Its elaborate shell has a series of curved spikes along its spine, and its purple skin is mainly hidden, encased in rocky armour, but visible along its mid-length tail.

Facts

The Titanor is known to slam its massive horn against cliffs to dislodge Morphopods and eat the fallen prey.
When threatened, the Titanor's spectral form slightly shifts from its physical form.
The Titanor has hinges in its layered exoskeleton which allows parts of its armour to open up and uncover its wings.
With natural waterways that wind down the steep slopes and cliffs, going the wrong way may mean dropping out of the sky into certain death. For the Stoic Floralynx, its keen sense of balance helps it flip over as it falls, landing on all fours with feet rooted firmly on the ground.
Camouflaged among grasslands and jungle thickets, the Stoic Floralynx has hefty green tufts of fur on its long ears and along the sides of its face. Its extremely dense mane covers its neck, chest, and spine, all the way to its tail. The root-like growths wrap around its torso like armoured scaffolding, and the ones upon its claws are sharp enough to impale. Distinct magenta marks its face and legs, curved and spiny, with circles and grooves that seem to resemble glyphs. Full of mysteries, the Stoic Floralynx’s eyes glow green, just like the orb on its forehead and the dots of light along its mane.
Facts
The Stoic Floralynx's thick hide is capable of absorbing energy from local plant life, enabling it to grow even thicker.
At night, the Stoic Floralynx dips its mane into cascading water, allowing its dots of light to flow down.
The Stoic Floralynx has a symbiotic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria, which creates a gentle glow from its mane.
