A mysterious water tribe healer with an unnatural fixation on bloodbending.

Special Move
Puppetry (Water - Blood)
Sabotage the other team by controlling their next move. The more health you have, the more effective you will be. (?? ATK, 50-70%)
Description
Name: Lanik
Sex: Female
Race: Northern Water Tribe
Age: 31

Intelligence: Gifted with sharp instincts on how the human body works
Education Type and Level: Completed her tutelage from master healers and conducts her own studies on bloodbending

Economic background: Born low-class and worked her way up
Profession: Healer

Likes: Plants, science, helping children
Dislikes: Rudeness, crime, stupidity
General attitude: Quiet and guarded when she’s off duty, Lanik is also capable of being warm and hospitable to clients she’s working with.
Backstory: Lanik’s little sister died of a strange illness when they were young. With her last breath, she said that she felt like she was drowning on the inside, but there was no water in her lungs. The healers didn’t know what to make of it and Lanik always blamed the death of her sister on the lack of innovation in healing techniques. Now as a healer herself, Lanik strives to advance her skills, even if it means experimenting with live human bodies. She only picks truly despicable people and criminals to experiment on and it has led to breakthroughs in her healing.

Key flaw: Lanik is so driven to further her experiments, her sense of justice starts to twist. She becomes more eager to find flaws in people in order to justify using them in her experiments.

Weakness: While Lanik is hyperaware of human bodies, she is less sensitive to physical changes in her environment. This makes her vulnerable to long-range attacks.
Visuals
Physical attributes: Lanik is of average height, with a slim build. Her hair is tied up in an elaborate braid.

Movement: Lanik is graceful, moving with precision. Her muscles expand when she is bloodbending, which gives her a more athletic build. In the event of grave injury, the blood that leaves her body floats around her and is used as a weapon. When she is defeated, she clutches her necklace and turns away.

Clothing: Modified waterbender cloak. She wears a necklace with a charm on it that belongs to her sister.

Weapons / Paraphernalia: Medical bag, water pouch, test tube with blood in them. Any bloodshed on the battlefield floats around her.
Barks
Before a fight:
”You don’t want to cross me.”
“This won’t end well for you.”
“You are making a grave mistake.”
“How unfortunate that it has come to this.”

Attacking:
“Give up now and I’ll heal you.”
“Please stop, this is a waste of blood.”
“Are you ready to surrender?”
"This is foolish"

Dodging an attack:
”You won’t succeed.”
“I can feel your heartbeat.”
“Are you tired already?”
“You don’t stand a chance.”

Defending:
”You’re going to regret that.”
“I just wanted to help.”
“How rude.”
“You are getting on my nerves.”

Ty-Hoo
A trickster that pretends to be one of the Ty sisters, this devious acrobat was sent to detention for chi-blocking mischief.

Special Move
Chi-block (Non-bending)
Stop or weaken an opponent’s elemental moves for 1-5 turns.
Description
Name: Ty-Hoo
Sex: Female
Race: Fire Nation
Age: 16

Intelligence: Photographic memory and master of social engineering
Education Type and Level: Top of her class in Fire Nation school, but ran away when they lost the war

Economic background: Orphan that was adopted by a high-class family until they had seven identical children and returned her to the foster home
Profession: Performer / Con Artist

Likes: All the free things she gets and the warm hospitality that comes with pretending to be a Ty sister
Dislikes: Being alone, annoying people, sentimental mushiness

General attitude: She acts friendly sometimes, but she is generally conniving. She’s always on the lookout for ways to take advantage of those around her. Deep down, she’s always wanted a found family, but she is also afraid of getting hurt.

Backstory: An orphan of war, Ty-Hoo was bounced from foster home to foster home as a child. To her surprise, when she looked through her records she found out a high-class family actually adopted her when she was a baby but gave her up again when they had seven identical children, which are the Ty sisters. This knowledge made her feel so sick she got a drowning feeling in her chest. To this day, it still comes and goes.

Key flaw: Ty-Hoo can easily fake a friendship with others, but she doesn’t know how to handle genuine emotional closeness. She feels empowered when she can get the upper hand on others and trick them into giving her whatever she wants. If she actually begins to care about someone, she either leaves them or becomes paranoid they will betray her.

Weakness: Jealous of people who have close friends and family, she loses focus the more an opponent shows care and support to their team members (i.e. collaborative attacks, healing each other).
Visuals

”Go ahead, I dare you!”

“I wonder if I’ll make you cry.”

Attacking:
”Bet you didn’t see that coming.”
”Let’s see what you have in your pockets.”
“This is fun…isn’t this fun?”
“Surprise!”

Dodging an attack:
”Hee hee, missed me!”
”Not even close.”
“You’re not very good at this.”
“Are you going easy on me or are you just this bad?”

“That tickles.”
”Ugh, how dare you?”
“That doesn’t hurt!”

Hoka & Rusto
Recent dropouts of Beifong MetalBending Academy, these twins love inventing new ways to tunnel.

Special Move
Secret Ally Tunnel (Earth)
Hide your teammate(s) underground and ambush your opponents together next round, evading above ground damage attacks. (+8-?? ATK)
Description
Name: Hoka & Rusto
Sex: Female (Hoka), Male (Rusto)
Race: Mixed, half Fire Nation and half Earth Kingdom
Age: 13

Intelligence: Kinaesthetic learners with a ton of street smarts, they’re both great with people
Education Type and Level: As dropouts of Beifong Academy, they’ve mastered the basics of metalbending but prefer self-lead inventing

Economic background: Middle-class upbringing, now runaways
Profession: Freelance inventors, scrap metal collector (Hoka) / thief (Rusto)

Likes: Cabbage cookies, finding useful scrap metal, her brother (Hoka)
Jasmine tea, stealing useful scrap metal, his sister (Rusto)
Dislikes: Jasmine tea, stealing, stuffy classrooms (Hoka)
Cabbage cookies, scavenging, being bossed around (Rusto)

General attitude: Curious and fun-loving, Hoka enjoys new experiences and charming the people around her. She gets wilder when she’s around her brother, but she also keeps him from taking things too far. Rusto is a daredevil who likes testing the limits of his money-making schemes. He wants to make money fast, in case the weird drowning feeling he has in his chest is actually serious and Hoka will be left alone without him.

Backstory: Hoka and Rusto ran away from home because they were tired of all the political tension in their hometown Yu Dao. They wanted a new adventure and to leave behind all the drama associated with their mixed heritage. Beifong Academy was just the first of a long string of adventures ahead of them. Everything is great now, except Hoka doesn’t know that Rusto started experiencing symptoms of a strange illness. It’s starting to feel like he’s drowning on the inside...

Key flaw: Hoka hates being tied down. She will step away from a situation that’s even the slightest bit restrictive out of principle. Rusto finds his sister too idealistic. Unlike her, he is not too worried about any values as long as he’s making money...and nobody is hurt too bad.

Weakness: When the twins don’t get along, they lose focus and become vulnerable to any individually targeted attacks.
Visuals
Physical attributes: Both twins look older than their age because they invented limb enhancements that make them taller. This way, adults would take them seriously. Hoka is a little bit taller than Rusto which makes him insecure, so he spikes his hair up.

Movement: Their movements are a little clanky because they use limb enhancements. Hoka always has dirt on her nose which she rubs off when she’s bored, and Rusto likes to touch up his hair, making sure it’s spiky.

Clothing: Since they move around so much, they wear a mix of clothing from the different regions they’ve visited.

Weapons / Paraphernalia: Their limb enhancements have different modes that allow them to drill underground and dig up rocks.
Barks
Before a fight:
Hoka: ”Want to see our new invention?”
Rusto: “You’re gonna love it.”

Hoka: “Yay, another chance to test Turbo Drill 5000!”
Rusto: “I’m so ready.”
Rusto: “I can’t wait to show you what we’re made of.”
Hoka: “Uh huh!”

Attacking:
Hoka: ”Hope we don’t hurt you too bad!”
Rusto: “Hahahaha, sucker.”
Rusto: “You’re in for a world of pain.”
Hoka: “Rusto, don’t be too mean.”
Rusto: “Come on, it’s just some friendly aggressive battle banter!”
Hoka: “Awww yeah!”
Rusto: “That’s the spirit!”
Rusto: “Take the lead!”
Hoka: “Got it, bro.”

Dodging an attack:
Rusto: ”Nice try, buddy!”
Hoka: “Ooh, that’s embarrassing.”
Hoka: “Too bad.”
Rusto: “Sucks to be you.”
Rusto: “Better luck next time.”
Hoka: “Nyah nyah!”
Hoka: “You can’t touch us!”
Rusto: “You ain’t got nothing on us”

Defending:
Hoka: ”Uh oh!”
Rusto: “We’ll get back at them.”
Rusto: “Not cool…”
Hoka: “This isn’t fun.”
Hoka: ”Oww!”
Rusto: “Are you okay?”
Hoka: “Watch out!”
Rusto: “Dang it…”
